Pro Bono Communications Day: May 29, 2026

The tenth edition of the Pro Bono Communication Day on Nov. 21, 2025 was another great success! Five civil society organizations were advanced by more than 50 professionals from the field.

That's the power of the Pro Bono Communications day! Marketing and communication specialists apply their knowledge and passion to the issue of a social organization. The next edition is scheduled for May 29, 2026.

Pro Bono (or in full pro bono publico) is an expression from Latin meaning "for the public good" in Dutch. Work by specialists performed voluntarily and unpaid in the service of society.

"What an atmosphere ... you all step into a creative pressure cooker. Ideas fly across the table and come together, choices are made quickly but thoughtfully, everyone instinctively grabs their role, and suddenly you notice: we're making something really fat. No consultation marathons, no noise but professional idiocy, energy and a shared focus."

- Youri Jozee, participant pro bono communications day November 2025

For civil society organisations

What an opportunity for your non-profit organization: you will work with a team of driven marketing and communications specialists. They are happy to volunteer their knowledge (and passion) for your social organization. Experience shows that it is really useful in practice.

For example, The Food Bank was treated to a creative recruitment campaign, The House for Refugees received a complete new look and feel for their website, a team of communications specialists created an elaborate anti-smoking campaign for Speelpark de Splinter and Markieza received two podcasts with stories from experts by experience.

Want knowledge, ideas and help with things like your brand awareness, strategy, positioning, social media plan or website? Join this unique event. Julia Geerts of Samen voor onze Regio will be happy to tell you more about what the Pro Bono day can do for you.

For marketing and communications specialists

Did you know that you can make a lasting impact on a nonprofit organization with your marketing & communications knowledge? And that by doing so you can boost not only the social foundation but also the work happiness for yourself or your company/department?

During the Pro Bono Communications Day, you combine inspired work with giving something back to society. In a small team of marcom specialists (approximately 6 to 8 people, from copywriter to creative, from strategist to SEO specialist) you work on a concrete communication issue of a local non-profit organization. These organizations often do not have their own communications department, let alone the budget for external advice, but they do have an issue.

That's where you can help! Together you will work on concrete solutions to these communication issues. For example:
- clear positioning
- new corporate identity or logo
- communication plans or social content.

In short, together you will create practical tools. That way, it won't just be well-intentioned advice, but the social organization can actually get started with the ideas after this day.
