Vitalis Parc Gender

Elderly

Exercise keeps you young and vital

The Beweegstraatje is an initiative for independent living seniors, area residents and healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists and welfare workers to exercise together outdoors to promote health, vitality, independence and social engagement of the elderly. Started in summer 2024 in partnership with physiotherapy practice Engelsbergen, the project has already been able to install two exercise machines thanks to a previous donation. The goal is to realize a complete movement route with five pieces of equipment, exercise boards and additional movement elements. Another €10,000 is needed for this expansion, and companies are invited to contribute to this worthwhile project.

The White Raven

Elderly

Transportation for the elderly and disabled

At The White Raven, a transportation association that runs on 65 volunteers, we are looking for the IDEAL 8306 folding machine to make our paper mailings for the 1250 members easier. Our members, who can no longer provide their own transportation due to circumstances, regularly receive notices in the mail about outings, annual meetings and our services. Folding and inserting thousands of sheets of A4 takes up a lot of our volunteers' time, which we would rather spend on transporting our members. With a folding machine we can make this process more efficient and are hoping for sponsorship from a company to pay for the purchase of this machine.

Move

Children and adolescents

Children and students discover their talents

Help create a world where every child can discover the value of their contribution to our society! With its "Move your neighborhood" elementary school projects, Move reaches children ages 10 to 13 in neighborhoods with socioeconomic challenges. Students volunteer to supervise these projects and develop their talents under professional supervision.

In a "Move your neighborhood" project, students and children work together on a project to improve their neighborhood, supported by community partners. The project culminates in a celebration and includes educational trips into student life, encouraging children to actively participate.

Theater performance Lunet Zorg

People with disabilities

Talent development through theater

This project focuses on creating a theater production with Stedelingen, in collaboration with clients of Lunet. The project will start on a small scale in 2026/2027 and will grow into a performance in the Hertog Jan Zaal of the Parktheater. In addition to the performance, a matching exhibition will be realized.

For Lunet's clients, theater production offers significant added value. It contributes to talent development, self-confidence, and visibility. The impact is tangible for both the participants and those around them.

The loss of a previous contribution has made the start of the project uncertain. With support from regional funds, the project can still get underway in 2026. This will give this special target group the opportunity to develop creatively and be visible on a large stage.

Foundation Give To Each Other Netherlands

Families and children

Every child has the right to grow up healthy, promising and safe

Stichting Geef om Elkaar Nederland is committed to children and families in poverty in Eindhoven and its surroundings. We strive for equal opportunities, fighting (child) poverty and stimulating language skills - because every child has the right to grow up healthy, promising and safe. Throughout the year we support minima and people who fall outside existing aid schemes. Thanks to donations from sponsors, we are able to provide weekly assistance. For December 2025, we are once again ready with our holiday campaign. We want to delight 350 families with St. Nicholas gifts, Christmas packages, children's books and more. We also distribute 100 "heart-to-heart" boxes each year to people dealing with illness or loss. Help us give these families not only practical support, but also hope, dignity and warmth.

Neighborhood Families

Families and children

Neighborhood Families pairs families who could use support with a stable family in the neighborhood.

Neighborhood Families Foundation believes it is important that all children have the opportunity to develop, participate and have fun. In this way, we promote equal opportunities for all children, regardless of their background. Therefore, we ask for your support for backpacks with our logo and the slogan "Parenting is something we do together." These backpacks children can use to put their gym gear in or take with them when they go to play at a support family. Help us support these children and shorten the waiting list.

Clean Up The World Foundation

Sustainable world

A world where everyone contributes to a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable planet.

Clean Up The World Foundation strives to leave a clean and green environment for our children and future generations. Our foundation promotes a culture of environmental awareness and responsibility, where everyone contributes to a cleaner, healthier and more sustainable planet. One of our main activities is regular street trash pickup. Since March, we have already conducted eight cleanups, finding many receipts, cigarette butts, plastic trash and tissues at supermarkets and downtown. To address this problem, we want to develop an app that anyone with a smartphone can use. This app is still in the brainstorming stage, but we are working with experts to make this idea a reality.

Cordaad Welfare

Volunteers

Together, we build neighborhoods where everyone feels at home and matters.

Stichting Cordaad Welzijn wants to work during Volunteer Week to promote volunteerism, appreciate volunteer organizations, and increase awareness of local Volunteer Centers. To achieve these goals, we want to offer volunteer organizations the opportunity to sign up for a volunteer box. We want to put together 50 copies per Volunteer Center. These boxes include a canvas bag, A4 note pads with ring binder, A6 postcards and stickers, promotion of BestuurdersCentraal Zuidoost-Brabant and the local Volunteer Center, and a printed candy jar.

Your donation helps put these boxes together and contribute to a successful Volunteer Week.

Dress For Success

People in a vulnerable position

Supporting job seekers through presentation and clothing advice

Dress for Success Eindhoven helps job seekers on minimum income or benefits to go to job interviews with confidence. We offer free representative clothing and professional advice, thus contributing to economic independence and social participation. Our clothing comes about thanks to donations from individuals and companies. Private individuals bring clothing in person, companies organize collection campaigns among employees. We used to thank them with a card - now we want to do more. With the Good bag, a bag for donations, we put our donors in the limelight. The name is a wink: a bag for nice clothes and a compliment for the donor. This way we encourage conscious donations and improve the quality of clothing collection - without unusable items in garbage bags. Help us appreciate these generous donors and make a difference - for them and for our clients.

Ballroom Functions

LGBTQ community

A safe place to come together for the LGBTQ community in Eindhoven

Ballroom Functions offers the LGBTQ community in Eindhoven a safe and inclusive place to meet monthly. These evenings in Dynamo are organized by an enthusiastic group of volunteers, and contribute to self-expression, self-confidence and connection within the community. To further professionalize the evenings, additional financial support is welcome. With this we can offer DJs, hosts and judges a small compensation and organize inspiring master classes for the local scene. Help us strengthen this safe space and make Ballroom Functions an even greater source of pride and inspiration for the community in Eindhoven.

Home-cooked foundation

People in a vulnerable position

Bringing people together through healthy meals and social contact

Stichting Thuisgekookt makes healthy food and meaningful social contact accessible by creating long-term 1-to-1 pairings between volunteer home cooks and community members who cannot cook for themselves. Our meal seekers are people in vulnerable positions, including independently living seniors, young people with mental challenges and family caregivers. Unfortunately, we do not receive funding in Eindhoven region, so we have limited matches and applications end up on a waiting list. We work with local neighborhood teams and GP practices to facilitate referrals. Please help us match these neighborhood residents and shorten the waiting list.

Eindhoven Heart Safe

Citizen Helpers

When every minute counts, quick help is vital

Eindhoven Hartveilig ensures that everywhere in the city AEDs are available 24/7 for citizen aid workers. These AEDs are linked to the CPR call system HartslagNu, so that help can be provided quickly in the event of a cardiac arrest. Every second counts, because an ambulance has an average response time of 12 minutes, while starting CPR within 6 minutes is crucial. Scattered across Eindhoven are 200 AEDs that need to be replaced every 10 years. In 2025, 16 are scheduled to be replaced. The cost is €4000 each - including AED, cabinet, mounting and maintenance for 10 years. Therefore, we ask for your help to keep these life-saving facilities up to date. Help keep Eindhoven heart safe - for yourself, your neighbors and everyone in town.

Drip

Children and adolescents

Every child deserves an athletic start!

DRIP ensures that all children can play sports - regardless of their background or financial situation. Together we provide free sports outfits and gear for children aged 4 to 16 so that no one has to stand on the sidelines.

Sports are not only healthy, but also important for self-confidence, friendship and development. Yet appropriate sportswear or equipment is not a matter of course for every family. DRIP therefore joins forces with partners and donors to provide used and new sportswear, shoes and materials - completely free of charge.

Help us get kids moving, in an outfit that makes them feel strong and seen. Because every child deserves a sporty start!

Foundation With Your Heart

Independent living seniors

Alleviate loneliness among independent living seniors

Foundation With Your Heart Eindhoven-Waalre aims to alleviate loneliness among independently living elderly with new Stammtisch. A Stammtafel is a monthly meeting in a local restaurant, where 6 to 8 elderly people from the same neighborhood have lunch together and make real contact. Each meeting is supervised by two volunteers. They pick up the elderly, bring them home again and provide a warm, familiar atmosphere. Participation is free of charge; a voluntary contribution is allowed but not required. The strength of the Stammtisch lies in its small scale and repetition. Because the group comes from the same neighborhood, lasting connections develop - even outside of the meetings. This not only grows a friendship network, but also more visibility and involvement in the neighborhood. Help us make a new Stammtisch possible. Because eating together is so much more than a meal - it's a start to less loneliness

My story for you

Families

Helps sick parents share their personal story to their children

My Story for You helps parents who are ill share their story with their children in a loving way. Through an online platform, parents can create a personalized read-aloud book printed for their child(ren). In this way, we make difficult conversations easier and support children in processing the news. This initiative grew out of my own experience, when I had to tell my children that I would not get better. The book we received at the time did not fit our situation, so the idea arose to offer parents a customized book. With €9,000 we can develop the platform. Every contribution helps and donors are listed on the website. In the future, we will expand the library with other stories so that more families can get a book that really fits their situation.

Vitalis Peppelrode

Elderly

The art of happy aging

Vitalis Peppelrode provides care, well-being and living for seniors in all stages of aging, with the goal that they feel meaningful, enjoy themselves and come together. We work daily on our mission: the art of happy aging. We provide professional support for residents and their partners, allowing them to play sports together, both for those walking and those in wheelchairs. This gives partners a chance to experience beautiful moments together, rather than just being involved with care. We have run a trial of boxing training for people with Parkinson's, which helps them to perform daily actions such as eating, dressing and reacting independently for as long as possible. We want to expand these sports classes further, but cannot apply for financial support through health insurance to do so. Therefore, we are looking for external support to continue these valuable activities.

Papito Foundation

Mentally challenged youth

A small-scale home, where living, living and working is done in harmony

Papito Foundation is building a small-scale (t)home for 12 young adults with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities in Eerstel. We want to create a snoezelruimte, a safe space that provides sensory stimulation and relaxation. This space will be furnished with soft, comfortable elements such as a waterbed, soundproof walls and adjustable lighting. We will also need equipment for music and slide projection. The cost of furnishing this snooze room is €15,000. Thanks to a sponsored run, parents and friends have already raised a portion. We are now looking for support to make this room possible. Will you help us realize this valuable space?

Youth Perspective Fund

Young people in debt

Helps young people in debt move toward a future with prospects and confidence

Youth Perspective Fund Eindhoven helps young people with debts on their way to a future with prospects and confidence. With coaching, hand money and a personal piggy bank we support them to get a grip on their lives again - and make real steps forward. We cannot do this alone. We make an impact together, with partners who each use their own expertise and contribution. We are looking for local organizations, funds and entrepreneurs who want to invest in perspective: by contributing to the hand money and savings of young people in the program. Do you also want to contribute to a debt-free future for young people in Eindhoven? We are happy to discuss cooperation, financial support or other forms of involvement. Together we make the difference.

Sheltersuit Foundation

Homeless people

The difference between cold and heat, between getting sick or surviving

For people without a roof over their heads, a Sheltersuit makes the difference between cold and warmth, between getting sick or surviving. A Sheltersuit is a wind- and waterproof jacket with a zip-on sleeping bag - designed for people who are forced to sleep outside. In Eindhoven, we are working with the street team of Ervaring who State to personally distribute the Sheltersuits to homeless people. The demand for these protective suits is growing - even here. Not everyone has access to shelter or housing, and this is precisely when a Sheltersuit is vital. With this project we want to make 15 Sheltersuits available for Eindhoven. Help us get people through the night warm, dry and with dignity.

Opportunities for Children

Children Woensel-West

Learn to use your own body to tell stories and express yourself

This project organizes a joint performance for participants of the performance clubs of Kansen voor Kinderen (Opportunities for Children) and their parents. The Theater Club, Music Club, and two dance groups from the Sports Club are working together toward a single performance at Natlab.

With a contribution, the TheaterKLUP coordinator can direct, organize rehearsals, provide costumes and decorations, arrange transportation, and pay for technical equipment and promotion. Natlab provides a theater space free of charge every year.

The first performance was a huge success. The hall was packed with parents, local residents, and family members. For many children, it was their first performance on a big stage. The project fosters pride, self-confidence, and community spirit in the neighborhood.

Foundation the Stable Friends

People with disabilities

Riding without restrictions

Foundation The Stable Friends offers horseback riding and day care for people with disabilities - a place where relaxation, development and individuality come together. Since two years we have our own location, where participants not only ride horses, but also participate at their own pace in the care of the horses, the vegetable garden and daily tasks. In order to continue to take good care of our horses, we would like to build a large shelter. Our horses live in herds and are outside as much as possible, but in wet winters and hot summers a dry and sheltered place is indispensable for their well-being. Only with healthy, relaxed horses can we continue to provide for the 120 happy faces that come to us each week. Will you help make this nice place - for humans and animals - even better?

Vitalis Atelier SKON

Elderly

A creative incubator where participants come together to make new products

Under Vitalis Woonzorggroep, Atelier SKON is a creative workplace where participants make sustainable products together from leftover materials. The atelier is all about participation, discovery and creation. Participants decide for themselves what they make and how, leading to unique handmade items - with love and character, not perfect but valuable. To spread this concept further, we want to develop green SKON toolkits with materials and instructions for workshops such as bag making, mosaics and china painting. Together with participants we will give these workshops at other Vitalis locations, stimulating sustainability, meeting and talent development. With €1500 we can realize these toolkits and inspire more people to be creative and sustainable.

Vitalis Engelsbergen

Elderly

The art of happy aging

Vitalis Engelsbergen offers a wide range of facilities for both residents and visitors. However, budget cuts in the past have greatly reduced the number of available vans, resulting in a limited range of activities. It is now more difficult to organize spontaneous outings because we rely on expensive wheelchair vans. The cost of using this van is covered per use by the Activities Supervisor and the residents themselves, providing a sustainable solution. Unfortunately, purchasing a new van remains a challenge. We would welcome your support to purchase a used van. The van would accommodate two resident wheelchairs and room for six to eight residents, which would greatly improve the mobility of our residents and increase opportunities for spontaneous outings and activities.

Care Arch Wolf Street

Elderly people with dementia

A recognizable environment where people really feel at home

De Zorgboog Wolfstraat in Helmond offers small-scale residential facilities for people with dementia. We would like to create a music garden in our indoor garden, an outdoor space with durable and weatherproof musical instruments and sound objects. Designed for people of all ages and abilities, these musical instruments provide a valuable way to make music and enjoy sounds in nature.

The instruments are:

  • Pentatonic tuned
  • Suitable for all ages and wheelchair accessible
  • Durable and weatherproof
  • Music connects!

Help us by donating an outdoor instrument for our music garden.

ImPower Eindhoven

People in vulnerable positions

Building a network together that strengthens each other

Ten Eindhoven residents on welfare are given the opportunity to train as peer coaches through this project. Without CV or work experience playing a role. From their own experience they guide others with distance to the labor market - people in exactly the same situation as themselves. With support from a mentor and a training program in coaching skills, leadership and practical topics, the participants grow into valuable companions. Payroll costs are covered through local businesses. With this fund request, we are asking for support for the training and mentoring costs needed to make this movement structurally and sustainably possible. Together we build a network of people who strengthen each other - from benefit to self-confidence and employment.

Humanitas Helmond

Youth

Making new friends and belonging somewhere

With the project Difference makers of Humanitas, young people in Helmond (ages 14-28) are given the opportunity to discover their talent, develop self-confidence and be meaningful to others. They organize their own activities, such as bingo evenings for the Humanitas Swap Shop, and support other projects within the organization.

The strength lies in the diversity of the group and the safe climate in which young people dare to express themselves. This is how they build their network, skills and a sense of belonging.

Your support makes professional coaching possible AND you invest in local, motivated talent: the employees of tomorrow. Get involved and help build an inclusive region where everyone counts.

Brainsupport Foundation

Youth

Mentally stronger and resilient youth

Nearly half of young people experience tension on a daily basis. One in three get stuck because of this, resulting in problems such as anxiety, gloom and sleep problems. Brainsupport aims to break this pattern by strengthening mental resilience at an early age.

The Gamechangers program helps young people in secondary schools and vocational education to develop self-direction. In group trainings and individual paths, they learn to cope with stress, emotions and challenges - in a gentle, future-oriented way.

Would you like to contribute to stronger, mentally resilient youth in our region? We would love to engage with you.

Dream4Kids

Children

Make dreams come true

Dream4Kids organizes unforgettable Dream Days for children with trauma. Volunteers are their driving force in this effort. To continue offering safe, meaningful experiences in the future, they are starting the project Sustainable Dreams.

With this project, they are investing in a digital volunteer platform and targeted training in trauma-sensitive work. This way they improve cooperation and prepare volunteers better for their role. This not only increases their self-confidence, but most importantly increases the quality of guidance for the child.

Pertoeti Foundation

Young people with disabilities

A safe, future-proof place for youth with intensive care needs

We are undergoing a major renovation to make our location future-proof and better suited to the needs of our clients: young people with (severe) intellectual and/or motor disabilities, often in combination with autism, epilepsy or visual problems. A warm, safe environment is essential to their well-being. The renovation itself and the temporary housing are financially covered. For the finishing and furnishing we are still looking for support in, among other things, refurbishing the garden, purchasing care beds, installing low-incentive lighting plan. The renovation will be completed in October. With help, we hope to fully reopen our doors on December 1..

Closer

people with disabilities

Closer to a meaningful life

Research by a music therapist within our organization shows that music helps reduce stress, aids in relaxation and regulates emotions and agitation. This makes music a particularly accessible "medicine" for our target group.

We cooperate with another foundation that organizes small-scale music events. Professional musicians connect in a special way that brings fun, relaxation and beautiful memories. It literally and figuratively adds color to life.

With donations we want to finance the necessary subscription and purchase additional musical contact moments. This way we can continue to surprise, touch and move our clients with the power of music.

Papito Foundation

Mentally challenged youth

A small-scale home, where living, living and working is done in harmony

Papito Foundation is building a small-scale (t)home for 12 young adults with moderate to severe intellectual disabilities in Eerstel. We would like to lay out a nice garden for our residents. They cannot easily go to a club, park or sports field. They always need guidance or help. The garden allows our residents to move around freely. This is also a great opportunity for the daycare program, so we could also start a vegetable garden, for example. The costs for building the garden amount to €5,000. Will you help us realize this garden?

It is possible to partially sponsor this application.

Care Arch Wolf Street

Elderly people with dementia

A recognizable environment where people really feel at home

At Zorgboog Wolfstraat, we would like to purchase a pillion bike for our residents living with dementia in any form. With this bike we can go outside together, enjoy the fresh air and the sociability of a bike ride through the neighborhood. A little exercise, a little time out - that does everyone good!

Our goal is to be able to cycle daily with residents early next year. In addition, a modification is needed for safe and dry bicycle storage.

Every contribution, large or small, brings us closer to this goal. The total amount needed for the purchase and storage of the duo bike is €15.000,-. Our residents will be extremely grateful for any support that helps make this wonderful plan a reality.

SMO Helmond

Homeless people

Trusted, protected and with perspective

In the winter shelter The Kamenij in Helmond we offer shelter to homeless people from the region. This year we have room for up to 65 guests who can come to us for a warm and safe overnight stay. We do everything to make their stay as dignified and peaceful as possible. possible.

To accomplish that, we would like to purchase bluetooth earphones and earbuds. The earbuds allow residents to listen to music or watch something in the evening without disturbing others. The earplugs will also help shut out noise so that everyone can better unwind.

The amount involved is €1,000, including €750 for a minimum of 65 bluetooth earbuds and €250 for a supply of earbuds.

Foundation Give To Each Other Netherlands

Children and Families

Every child has the right to grow up healthy, promising and safe

In the Netherlands, there are still families and individuals who are unable to celebrate Sinterklaas and Christmas with a festive meal, conviviality, or gifts. The Geef Om Elkaar Foundation is committed to changing that. This year, we are organizing various heartwarming campaigns for low-income families and homeless people in Eindhoven.

Around the holidays, we organize a Sinterklaas campaign in which children from low-income families can put out a shoe and receive a gift. In addition, we put together more than a hundred Christmas hampers filled with treats for families who are in dire need. We also organize a New Year's dinner for around two hundred people. A professional chef prepares a three-course dinner with fresh, healthy products, so that our guests can enjoy good food and a pleasant atmosphere in a peaceful location.

Finally, each guest receives a well-stocked goodie bag containing chocolate, personal care products, and—for the children—a children's book from the foundation. Together, we ensure that no one has to be alone during the holidays.

The Neighborhood Campground Helmond

Local residents

Get to know each other on vacation in your own park

The Rijpelberg Neighborhood Campground is a place where local residents truly connect with one another.

The Neighborhood Campsite is a temporary campsite for anyone with a connection to Rijpelberg: young and old, rich or poor. Residents can participate as campers, day visitors, or volunteers. Eating, playing, and doing activities together helps people get to know each other better.

The strength of Buurtcamping lies in its accessibility and collaboration. Local schools, organizations, associations, and businesses participate and contribute to the program. This includes communal meals, creative workshops, and sporting activities, always with a focus on bringing people together.

With support, we can keep the campsite accessible, strengthen the program, and reach even more neighborhood residents. In this way, we can work together to build a close-knit and engaged neighborhood.

Peelkijk Foundation

Residents of Asten & Someren

Together, we bring Asten and Someren into focus.

The Peelkijk Foundation is a volunteer initiative that showcases local life in Asten and Someren. Through photos, videos, and stories, they highlight village activities, events, and initiatives. They believe that being seen and heard contributes to a strong community.

The social value is significant. Residents feel more connected to their village, associations reach a wider audience, and even people who are less mobile remain connected to local life. In addition, Peelkijk contributes to preserving local heritage that would otherwise be lost.

In order to continue this work in a sustainable manner, the Peelkijk Foundation is requesting a contribution of €2,500. This will be used for website maintenance, equipment and software, support and training for volunteers, and practical expenses. This will enable Peelkijk to continue to show what matters locally in the future.

Opportunities for Children

Children Woensel-West

Colorful community garden

Neighborhood Garden Full of Color is a green and art project in Woensel-West that brings together young families, young people, and seniors. In a communal paint garden, residents work with pigment-bearing plants, make natural paint, and paint tablecloths together.

The strength of the project lies in the encounter between generations and cultures. Different backgrounds, gardening traditions, and ideas come together in a shared green space. The tablecloths are used during cultural events in the neighborhood and thus travel throughout Woensel-West.

This project gives art and greening a permanent place in the neighborhood and creates space for encounters, creativity, and connection.

Trash from the Dommel CleanUp

Sustainable world

Litter-free living environment

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the start of spring, the first edition of the Rommel uit de Dommel Cleanup will take place. This new initiative brings residents from across the Brainport region together to clean up litter along the Dommel River.

The cleanup is being organized by experienced initiators from the region and, in this pilot, will focus on three to four locations in Eindhoven, Boxtel, Sint-Michielsgestel, and elsewhere. Volunteers will roll up their sleeves and work together to create a cleaner and healthier living environment.

The campaign has a visible impact and generates positive attention for nature and cooperation in the region. This first edition forms the basis for expanding the cleanup along the entire Dommel route in the future. Together we can make a difference.

Archipelago Eerdbrand

Elderly

Growing old together happily

A contribution is requested for a large JBL Partybox with wireless microphones for the guest room. The current sound system is inadequate for recreational activities for 100 to 120 residents. The sound is too loud at the front and barely audible at the back. We also currently use a lot of cables.

With a powerful Bluetooth speaker and microphones, we can better organize activities such as variety shows, karaoke, dance performances, and live streams. The microphones are also important during bingo afternoons, as many residents are hard of hearing.

A good sound system ensures better sound for everyone, greater ease of use for staff, and the ability to organize activities more often. This allows residents to continue enjoying accessible and enjoyable moments together.

Philipsdorp Playground Association

Children and families

Playing together in the playground

The playground consists largely of grass and hills (approximately 7,000 m²). The current lawn mower has broken down. In order to maintain the grounds properly and safely, a powerful ride-on mower is needed that can handle the steep hills.

The municipality is providing a small contribution, but this is not enough to purchase a suitable mower. We are looking at a Stiga Park 500 with a 95 cm cutting deck, a mower that we know is powerful enough for the terrain.

With additional financial support, the playground can also be well maintained in the coming season. This will ensure that the grass remains safe and well cared for, and that children can continue to play in a pleasant environment.

YvVa Foundation

Women

Helping women recognize signs of breast cancer earlier

This initiative focuses on women of all ages and helps them to recognize the signs of breast cancer earlier. According to the Netherlands Cancer Institute, around 70% of women do not check their breasts, often because they do not know how to do so.

In 2024, 18,100 women in the Netherlands were diagnosed with breast cancer. Only 6,303 cases were detected through population screening. This means that nearly 12,000 women had to discover the disease themselves, often at a later stage. Among them were 3,000 to 5,000 young women.

Interactive awareness sessions teach women what to look out for and how to perform breast self-examinations. During the sessions, participants test their knowledge, learn to recognize changes in the breast, and practice using special models.

The meetings are organized in the social domain, at companies, and at schools. The goal is to raise awareness, increase self-reliance, and build confidence to take timely action in the event of health risks.
